French former budget minister Jerome Cahuzac arrives at Paris courthouse for the verdict of his tax fraud trial on December 8, 2016. The 64-year-old former rising star in the French Socialist Party faces charges of tax evasion and money laundering as well as under-declaring the value of his fortune when he took up his post in 2012. Prosecutors have called for a three-year jail term and a two-year sentence for his co-defendant and ex-wife, dermatologist Patricia Menard.

Cette affaire a notamment permis la création d'un parquet national financier chargé des affaires les plus complexes, et renforcé les sanctions pour les fraudes les plus lourdes.
