This handout picture taken on January 27, 2016 and released by the Marina Militare (Italian Navy) on January 28, 2016 shows crew members of the Italian navy ship Aliseo taking part in an operation in which 290 migrants were rescued from three dinghies off the Libyan coast, in the Mediterranean Sea. The Italian navy said on January 28, 2016 it had recovered six bodies from a sinking dinghy off Libya and pulled 290 migrants to safety as they attempted the perilous crossing to Europe. Over 2,500 people were rescued off the coast of Libya in the past week, bringing the number for January to almost 5,000, significantly more than the 3,528 people who were rescued in January last year.
